2017 Summary:

On Saturday January 28 our Chapter met at the offices of one of our business partners, Ron Tenio of Ricoh.  We had about 25 members and volunteers at this event; all of us collected donations of personal items, snacks, books and magazines throughout January and then met to pack everything up and send them to our troops.  We also donated a substantial amount of items to Adopt A Battalion to aid them in their efforts to supply our troops with these gift boxes here and abroad.  We thank Ricoh and Ron Tenio for their kind generosity in providing the space, extra volunteers and supplies as well as breakfast for the Chapter.  Thank you to all of our volunteers!

2016 Summary:
Community Connection Event to Benefit the INN: Members and Business Partners worked together to assemble shower kits for people in need of the amenities that The Inn provides.  We were pleased to partner on this worthwhile project that some of our Business Partners support.

2015 Summary:
It was a beautiful day when several members participated in our Community Connection Event on May 3 at Sunrise Day Camp.  We had a great opportunity to support this worthy cause by donating and planting flowers at the camp.  We appreciate the time that everyone put into this special day.

2013 Summary:
For this year’s community challenge we volunteered and participated in a food drive to distribute to those in need.

2011 Summary:
The Long Island Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators sponsored a meal at a local community church.  The church opens its doors to all members of the community for a hot meal (known as Micah Meal) one Saturday per month.  On Saturday, November 19th members of our chapter, together with their family, friends and co-workers worked together in all phases of the community meal.  The service included setting up, supplying, cooking and serving all food for a Thanksgiving themed meal, packaging all leftovers for the guests to bring home, cleaning up and restoring the facility back to its regular condition.  The luncheon was enjoyed by all who attended, members and guests alike.

2010 Summary:
ALA Long Island Chapter members volunteered at United Cerebral Palsy of Nassau’s annual Festival of Trees! event. Over 20 members, as well as friends and family volunteered at different vendor booths to help UCPN raise money and awareness.

2009 Summary:
ALA LI Chapter members partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County in their continued efforts to build homes for families in need.  On October 10, 2009, 15 Chapter members, their firms and their families joined forces to come work side by side on the completion of a hurricane strapping and nailing off the second story flooring of a brand new home for the Saenz family.  The best quote for this year’s project came from one of our members who at the end of the day said "although this was the most labor intensive CCW project for the Chapter yet, it was also the most rewarding."  LI Chapter members enjoyed the opportunity to unite as a group and not only help a family in need but to rebuild our community.
